History of the brand

The company was founded in Italy in 1919 by companies Fiat and Ercole Marelli. Initially, the company name was F.I.M.M. (Fabbrica Italiana Magneti Marelli). In 1967, Fiat purchased all shares, and it became a new impetus for company development: main investments were contributed to R&D.

Today, Magneti Marelli is considered one of the most innovative companies all over the world. MM has been a supplier for leading world car manufacturers, and it possesses 89 factories, 12 R&D centers, 30 test-centers, being presented in markets of 19 countries. Many awards presented in fields of technology, innovations and design attest high quality of car parts and standards of work of the company. Starting from 1937, Magneti Marelli was presented more than 150 awards and prizes, and more than 50 of them were received from such world car manufacturers, as GM, Volkswagen, Ford, Fiat, Suzuki, Volvo, Chrysler, Renault and many others.
